Do we lose our Douglas Treaties?

• The Modern Treaty no longer requires our Nation to surrender, extinguish or modify pre-existing rights and title.
• This protects pre-existing rights, including the Douglas Treaty Rights.
• Our Modern Treaty will recognize our Nation’s existing Section 35 rights under the Canadian Constitution.
• These include Douglas Treaty Rights, Aboriginal Rights, Aboriginal Title and the right to self-government.
